Muscular System
An organ system that consists of skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscles. These muscles maintain posture, permits movement. The types of muscles in a human body: cardiac, skeletal, and smooth.
Cardiac MuscleCardiac muscles make up the wall of the heart. This muscle is considered the heart itself inside the human body. The cardiac muscle is striated and contracts through the sliding filament. Unlike other muscles the cardiac muscle is attached together instead of attached onto a bone

Skeletal MuscleThe skeletal muscles make up about 40% of a human's body weight. These muscles are made of long muscle fibers. The nervous system controls the contraction of this muscle. Many of the skeletal muscle contractions are automatic. However we still can control the action of the skeletal muscle. This is known as a voluntary muscle.

Smooth MuscleSmooth muscles are found in our urinary bladder, gallbladders, veins and arteries. We cannot consciously control the smooth muscle and that is why they are known as involuntary muscles.
